QuestFest Baltimore: A Celebration of Visual Theatre
Deaf Artists Headline International Festival
Quest Productions presents QuestFest, a two-week visual theatre
festival January 9–22, 2006. QuestFest features
non-verbal performances by an international roster of exceptional
deaf and hearing artists. QuestFest offers
a rare opportunity to see cutting-edge cultural performances
at affordable prices.
Deaf Way II Featured Artists Willy
Conley (USA), Asphyxia (Australia),
and Ramesh
Meyyappan (Singapore) bring their world-class visual theatre
back to the Baltimore/Washington area.
The addition of Pilobolus
Too, one of our nation’s most innovative dance companies, PUSH
Physical Theatre and other outstanding physical theatre
companies assure audiences an array of rich and inventive performances. QuestFest also
offers master classes, panel discussions, residencies, workshops
and post-show discussions. The FreQuest
Flyer Card is available to see a series of shows at reduced
prices.
Quest, the company that produced Gallaudet University’s Deaf
Way II International Arts Festival and Opening Ceremonies joins
forces with Towson University, Theatre Project, Creative Alliance,
Baltimore Mayor’s Office for Promotion and the Arts, VSA
arts Maryland, and the Maryland Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing
to bring this festival to the Baltimore/Washington area. QuestFest is
completely accessible to deaf and hard of hearing audiences and
no sign language interpreters are required for any of the shows.
