Blood Makes Noise is a funny, moving story
about a couple named Phoebe and Sam. When they meet and
fall in love, it seems all their dreams have come true
as they fall into a wonderful world of fantasy and love.
But Phoebe is Deaf, and Sam is not. Can their relationship
withstand the challenge of communication? Presented with
a mixture of acrobatics, adagio, Australian Sign Language,
and English, Blood Makes Noise explores the
eternal question, “Is love... enough”?
Asphyxia, a deaf acrobat, performs with Daniel Gorksi
in Blood Makes Noise. A freelance performer who has been
seen at hundreds of festivals and events around the world,
Asphyxia worked with Amanda Owen to create Blood
Makes Noise in 1995. With assistance from Next Wave Festival,
Asphyxia recreated the show for touring in 2001. Daniel
is a student of Australia's National Institute of Circus
Arts and specializes in Chinese pole, hat and cigar manipulation,
and slack rope.
Blood Makes Noise and Into The Night appear
on the same program.
