Pilobolus Too, affectionately called PTOO, was conceived in 1996 and has been referred to as the little luxury edition of Pilobolus productions; two bravura dancers, veterans of many years of national and international touring, present a seamless evening of new and classic Pilobolus works. As surprising as its first cousin, the major American dance company Pilobolus Dance Theater, The New York Times has called Pilobolus Too “a jewel-like distillation of Pilobolus spirit and history.”

Pilobolus germinated in the fertile soil of a Dartmouth College dance class in 1971. What emerged was a collaborative choreographic process and a unique weight-sharing approach to partnering that gave the young company a non-traditional but powerful new set of skills with which to make dances. The group was immediately acclaimed for its startling mix of humor and invention. Today Pilobolus Dance Theatre is a major American dance company of international influence.
