This Side Up explores one man’s struggle between the urban sprawl of the city and his need to get back to his roots. Unfortunately, when he attempts to go back to nature he neither has the skills nor the knowledge to make it happen. The city is the only thing he knows. As the seasons pass, his heart yearns for the simple life. This Side Up creates a world of strong characters with its own distinctive style and madcap humor set in a wonderfully visual narrative world.

Ramesh Meyyappan was a director, teacher, and actor with Dramaplus Arts in Singapore. Prior to finishing his degree at Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts in the United Kingdon, he was Artistic Director of Singapore’s Hi! Theatre. Recently Ramesh completed a tour of his adaptation of Dario Fo’s Mistero Buffo which included America, Singapore, Austria, UK and Sweden. A versatile practitioner, Ramesh has also presented workshops on visual theatre and its various forms.
