From the maker of Air Heart comes an aerial journey into the theatrical realm of myth and fairytale based on Hans Christian Anderson’s story, The Snow Queen. Featuring the talents of Monique Holt, Ben King, Bryce Butler, & Mara Neimanis, Snow Queen explores our place in balance with the natural world and our communication with it and with each other. Using mask and daring aerial elements, Anderson’s dark fairy tale of a young “shero’s” journey comes to life in an exciting and magical exploration of visual theatre.

Mara Neimanis creates theatre in the air using trapeze and invented aerial apparatus that include floating sculptures and incongruous large objects. Her work integrates circus arts with physical acting to create stories, text, and characters set in multi-dimensional landscapes. Neimanis was a resident artist at The Creative Alliance where she created the smash hit, Air Heart and presently teaches Aerial Theatre, Mask Performance, and Trapeze at her aerial studio at Load OF Fun in Baltimore. She has an MFA in Theatre from Towson University and is delighted to be creating this new Aerial Theatre piece with such a wonderful cast!
