What is Quest Productions?

Quest Productions

Quest Productions is internationally recognized for its innovative work in visual theatre and its leadership in welcoming people from diverse backgrounds.

Based in Lanham, Maryland Quest Productions is a division of Quest: arts for everyone, a non-profit arts organization. Quest produced Gallaudet University’s Deaf Way II International Arts Festival and the Opening Ceremony of Deaf Way II at the Washington Convention Center in 2002. Approximately 400,000 people participated in various ways in Deaf Way II festival events. Following on the success of Deaf Way II and sparked by a request from Deaf artists, in 2003 Quest produced QuestFest Fringe at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe presenting five visual theatre pieces at the world’s largest theatre festival. In 2006, Quest produced QuestFest Baltimore with more than 12 companies in over 40 performances at venues all across the greater Baltimore area. In 2007, Quest produced educational and cultural events in conjunction with the Deaflympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Quest’s touring companies have performed in Hong Kong, India, South Africa, Mexico, Romania, Austria, Australia, Czech Republic, Australia, United Kingdom and all across the United States.

The Gallaudet University Community Relations Council and the government of the Czech Republic among others have presented Quest with awards honoring the company for its work as a model for inclusiveness and its commitment to the work of deaf artists from around the world.
