Tim Chamberlain and Iosif Schneiderman
World Premiere
Swept Away and Dario Fo’s Mistero Buffo appear on the same program.
Has a chance event ever sweep you into the past? In Swept Away memory brings the past into sharp focus. This is what happens to an artist who is separated from his wife and daughter, his country, and his language. In America, he is unable to practice his art and instead is trapped in the darudgery of scratching out a living. We see a tragic figure transformed into his memories and back again to reality.
Tim Chamberlain and Iosif Schneiderman first worked together in IRT's 1995 production of Noises Off by Michael Frayn at the Samuel Beckett Theatre in New York: Tim directed and Iosif played Selsdon Mowbray. They performed together most recently in My Friend the Perfect Circle by Monique Holt in 2006. Among many other accomplishments, Iosif appeared in Deaf West's production of Big River at the Roundabout in New York and created Goya en la Quinta del Sordo which premiered at Deaf Way II and was recently remounted by Gallaudet University for their current season and to appear at QuestFest 2008. |
